Update on King
The move last Saturday went very smooth. I think King is having a grand time outside on the land. He seems to be getting along real well with the other horses, particularly one Fjord pony named Varro who's his new best buddy (and also his neighbor when they're stabled ( Read more... ) -
King's late night adventure
Yesterday I planned to go to bed early but ended up coming home from King at midnight. I had put him in the indoor hall for leisure and while rolling he had managed to get stuck to the wall. When I passed the hall on the way to the toilet I heard hooves bonking against the wooden boarding so I went back to check and found him lying on his side, not ( Read more... ) -
Kereltje
Forgot to post this earlier (I blame my snotty brains): last Friday I found Kereltje dead in his cage, curled up in his favourite exercise wheel. He seemed to have just fallen asleep, although it was in an odd place. Maybe he moved there because of the heat.

This is pretty scary...
A foal was born dead 2 1/2 months early a few days ago. An autopsy was performed, which revealed there's a rhinopneumonia infection at our stables which killed the foal (who are most vulnerable to this disease) and caused an abortion.
So now our stables are closed off from the outside world and all horse owners are warned to avoid contact with ( Read more... )
